It’s a western trait to look at other countries and condescendingly point the finger at other oppressive regimes. Don’t get me wrong, I believe it’s incredibly important to keep a spotlight on those countries and the welfare of their citizens, but let’s not forget in the UK that: • our civil liberties have been systematically reduced or erased • there are extreme levels of poverty, hunger and destitution • the elite classes have exponentially too much power and money • the poor and vulnerable suffer the worst @josh_ffw and I go deep on this in the latest @115milespod .
