I found this picture awhile back taken by my mom at our house in Minneapolis. I’m playing with my dad on my first drum set. I I think I was 4 or 5 years old. When I turned 12 I actually became the drummer in my dad’s band Huckleberry Finn, Cornbread and Friends. Obviously there were keyboards around the house so I would always play them and try to write songs. I was 13 when I met Terry. He said we should start a band but said he already had a drummer so I should play keyboards since my dad played keyboards. Terry’s drummer was @jellybean_johnson_ and he could play rings around me so I switched to keyboards and the rest is history 🎹. My appreciation of music came from my Mom who played music nonstop in our house. But my musical talent came from my dad who sacrificed his musical career to raise me so I could have mine. I got to thank him the last month when I was in Minneapolis for the Billboard awards but I’ll thank him again now on Father’s Day and if you’d like feel free to thank him also. #happyfathersday #cornbreadharris
