Jesus is so good to me! can i share something with y’all? when my brothers and i were younger & beginning our journey’s in sports, my dad would always say to us “Vallorosi’s never give up”. whether it was starting a new sport & struggling, or finding that a team was troubling, or even not playing well in a season, he would constantly repeat this phrase. never. give. up. whoaaa... that is quite the phrase to live up to, especially when life seems to throw trying moments at you when you may feel like all you can do is give up. i know i’ll tell you i’ve had many moments where i felt like this. well y’all i’m here to tell you, this phrase is so important & applies to you too. i was at church & actually was hearing these same words be preached. “do not give up!”...it’s crazy what God can do. i proceeded to listen & the sermon was actually relating to the movie American Underdog, a football player named Kurt Warner who did this exact thing. he never gave up on his dreams & God provided for him in one way or another, no matter how difficult life got. the woman who was speaking said “life labels you an underdog, but faith crowns you a champion.” where am i going with this? well as some of you may know, i am currently playing at a college & i’m on a really small team. (i loveee playing on small teams! at my community college we were small too & we made it to nationals!) typically when one team is smaller and has “less of an advantage” they are labeled an underdog. well, i’m here to tell you that you can be labeled, but labels do not define you, because with faith you can accomplish anything you want & push past the limit that others set on you! i truly believe that with God you can do anything. in fact one of the first Bible verses i learned was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”in my most recent game, i happened to be getting over a little cold, i already have asthma, but i prayed that God would just give me and my team strength to perform, and He said “you can do it!” i happened to score a goal at my first uni game with an assist too & my team came together for a tie! nothing is too challenging for Jesus!
