various stages of my weight loss/weight gain journey (in no particular order)šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« It’s human nature to want to present the ā€œbest versionā€ of ourselves at all times on social media. A few years ago I would have never shared some of these more unflattering pictures, but I think now more than ever with social media being as pervasive as it is…it’s important to lift the veil sometimes. Especially for men. We are taught to sweep things under the rug, to ā€œman upā€, to keep our emotions in check, we rarely if ever talk publicly about how body image impacts us. This has created a legion of men who have a lot of internal turmoil. The truth is , for my whole life, I have struggled with body image and finding motivation to workout. I’ve always prioritized work and career first - fitness and health second. This year however, I’ve finally learned to balance the yin & yang of it all. The most important lesson I’ve learned is to create boundaries & patterns for yourself. Through a lot of self reflection I realized I lacked these boundaries and patterns because I grew up parenting myself for the most part. I touched on this briefly in a previous reel, but when you grow up without structure or guidance - you end up having to create parameters for yourself . Wow these are a lot of words for a weight gain post lol. I’ll end this here, but to anyone else reading this who can relate; I see you & I understand you. It’s time. . . . #fitness #fitnessmotivation #selfreflection #weightlossjourney #weightgain #transformation #bodyimage #bodypositivity #mensissues #asianamerican #aapi #explore #explorepage
