How do you find ways to stay connected to your ancestors? In a series of 3 sculptures, Gabriela Cobar (@gabriela_cobar) created a metaphorical portal connecting past, present and future generations of her family. As a child of South and Central American parents, Gabriela was raised to value her history and roots. Storytelling keeps her connected with her ancestors, leading her to consider what aspects of them are present in her life today, as well as what parts of her will still be present once she is gone. Repeating motifs, shapes and colors in her installation at Meta’s Sunnyvale office symbolize what is passed on through generations.
