The other week, amidst a whirlwind of Miami Art Week events, Maestro Dobel Tequila (@dobeltequila) hosted a dinner in the Standard hotel’s lush and tropical Meditation Garden to celebrate the launch of Artnet’s Innovator’s List 2022, featuring 35 vanguard names who are forging the future of the art industry. It was a buzzing evening where art and tequila innovators alike mingled into the night, and cocktails and conversation flowed. “We developed the Innovators List to recognize people who were doing truly original work to move the art industry forward,” explains Julia Halperin, #ArtnetNews’s executive editor. Maestro Dobel is no stranger to the art world. Fairgoers have become accustomed to the luxury-tequila brand’s tranquil Artpothecary hubs at Frieze New York, Frieze London, and of course, Art Basel. The event culminated in a toast from Luigi Rodriguez, Maestro Dobel’s Agave Ambassador, who eloquently described the innovation behind the ancient and culture-steeped process of coaxing elixir from the prized plant—really bringing the evening full circle.
