Les Acrobates, 2019 is now on view @galeriekrinzinger in the inaugural edition of Paris Plus @artbasel . This work is a RENEGADE (ongoing series) and was made with the model of Les Acrobates, an artwork in public space that was commissioned by The Inria Paris Research Centre. Les Acrobates takes collaboration, science, creativity as their starting point. The full size Les Acrobates is made of steel, which will be deformed and folded with hydraulic presses, in a controlled process "uncontrolled", then welded and repaired. The result is a playful, dancing, joyful double human form. As in the case of science, of research, this work of art will be created in a ‘trial and error’ process. Les Acrobates symbolizes collaboration, solidarity. With its double mirrored human form, the work refers to balance, structure, science. But also at the time of Eureka, the breakthrough, the pleasure - the irrational in the scientific process. The sculpture is a tribute to the intangible which is the basis of everything, even the most exact science: creativity, imagination, dreams. BOOTH D22
