In the 10 years since artist Ruohan Wang (@ruo_han_wang) moved from Beijing to Berlin, she has seen the city of Berlin change a lot. “I started to think about why Berlin is a city of movement. People move in and move out, leaving behind traces of their culture, art, sexual partners, plants and mattresses.” For her mural in Meta’s Berlin office, Ruohan celebrates the individuality, diversity, environmental awareness and free-spirited nature that is synonymous with Berlin. Each of its citizens is part of this unbounded expression of movement. As an artist with a Chinese and German background, Ruohan wanted to represent the city’s multiculturalism, with the most important elements of humanity at its center: love, diversity, sustainability and joy.
