This was one of my favorite trails to run on when I was living in Nevada. Jogging and running isn’t my favorite but it’s great cardio and I feel amazing when I’m done. I like to force myself to “feel uncomfortable” so I can grow mentally. It’s a trippy feeling when you WANT to stop jogging just because of the uncomfortable feeling you’re getting but you know your body can keep going... I didn’t realize how powerful our minds truly are. I tell my brain affirmations so that I can keep going and to try to prevent the feeling of wanting to quit. Here are some affirmations I tell myself on repeat: I AM THE BEST THIS IS EASY I AM A CHAMPION I AM A WINNER I WILL NOT QUIT I AM NOT A QUITTER I WILL SUCCEED I LOVE A CHALLENGE I AM HEALTHY I WILL WIN I AM STRONG I also prefer to listen to slow pace music so I don’t overwork myself. I breathe deeply from my nose and focus on slowing my heart rate. I was really surprised at myself when I jogged 5.5 miles for the first time without a break when the most I have ever done was 1.5 miles prior. And this was the first time I said affirmations to myself while jogging.
