Today is exactly one year since Abri entered the hospital and this latest battle began for her. It has definitely been a tough year and has brought Abri to the lowest points she has ever been but my girl is fighting and clawing her way back and I feel like we can finally start to breathe again. I know we have been pretty distant through all of this and that you all have many questions so over the next few days I am going to try to start summarizing all that has happened over this last year. Abri’s dad is now up here with us to stay so I have actually gotten some sleep 😴 and feel like I am ready to start thawing out and processing all of it. Little sis has been here in MI the whole time too and is in need of some serious thawing out as well. She has been amazing through everything but she is very ready to finally get out of the house and do some mommy daughter dates. We have our house in AZ up for rent to help cover all the expenses and have gotten some help from our amazing church as well. Man we miss our church!!! 😭Abri's wheelchair FINALLY got approved so we are hoping that will get delivered in the next month or so. The biggest hope is that she will be walking fully on her own by then so she won’t need it as much anyway. 🙏😊 As you can see in the video she is still struggling with her prosthetic leg bowing inwards which is making walking more of a struggle but as her strength increases that should also improve and hopefully we will be able to get a foot approved for her so she has more stability than what the blade provides. Her blade is great for dancing etc but not so great for learning to walk again. The portable wheelchair we were able to buy with the gift cards has been a lifesaver! You all are amazing and we love you all! 🥰
