As we head into a new year, and our fourth year as an organization, @eatlearnplay continues to expand our work helping children in Oakland reach their full potential. In 2022, we: • Provided two million meals and nearly 500,000 new books to Oakland students and families • Fully funded 1,500 teacher-led classroom literacy projects in Oakland public schools • Remodeled four new playspaces, complete with new multi-sport courts, playgrounds, gardens, and murals • Helped make summer camp accessible for 3,000 students in our community In 2023, we are embarking on an ambitious multi-year strategy to support Oakland students. We envision a future where every student can reach their full potential through: • Locally sourced school meals • School libraries full of culturally relevant books • Support for teachers to ensure students are reading at grade level by the end of third grade • Increased access to school sports programs and quality schoolyards Thank you for supporting our work as we continue to innovate, inspire, bring joy, and explore ways to support the whole child.
