TRUE STORY: I was having dinner in a local restaurant and a woman walked in carrying a book. It only took a second for me to realize that the book was The Stationary Shop by Marjan Kamali ( that cover!) I sort of screamed with delight and then went up to her and introduced myself and we started talking about how great the book is. I learned she heard about it from Mozhan Marno’s IG post about adapting it for HBO with Prentice Penny and Alex Soler. I finally sat down at my table and finished dinner. On our way out I stopped at her table, assured her I wasn’t a stalker, and we continued to discuss how captivating the novel is ( I didn’t give away any spoilers).
