@andrewnuding, a photographer born in Dublin and based in London and Paris, has captured the essence of two Irish folk traditions in his latest book. The Puck Fair and the Wren Boys are two rural festive practices that have been performed in Ireland for thousands of years. Nuding’s book combines documentary photography with staged images created in collaboration with stylist Kieran Kilgallon, reflecting the photographer’s street and studio-based practices. This contemporary rendering of myth and its recycled elements, represented here by repurposed materials, be they hay or tinsel, alludes to the importance of creative and ritualistic practices in all forms of community-building.
