Pinch me...AGAIN! This little bird is in @townandcountrymag X @papermagazine wearing @vancleefarpels, @christopherjohnrogers, and @sideara. On the day of the shoot, I texted @justintmoran earnestly: “Who am I supposed to be? Uptown? Downtown?” Neither of us quite settled on an answer... As I reflect on this question, it becomes clear that I’m neither, or perhaps a bit of both (and definitely not midtown, hahaha!). The truth is, I’ve always been like a bird, flying above and between worlds—not just in the casting of this uptown & downtown shoot, but in every facet of my life. It’s why I dyed my hair down the middle—a subtle nod to the fragmented parts of me yearning to merge. I once feared this might forever cast me as an outsider, lacking a true community, but with time, I’ve come to realize that my ability to flit and perch momentarily in various realms has led me to form profound connections with those who have so much to offer—whether it’s uptown sophistication or downtown cool. Now, this little Union City, NJ bird girl flares through NYC as a mosaic of everyone I’ve cherished, and for that, I am profoundly grateful.
