Last week was super special for our elders as we got to partner with Sweet Grass Roots Collective and their kids camp for an afternoon of song, dance and teachings. Cross cultural and generational connections were tended as we learned about the Medicine Wheel and the land we are situated on by Joce. As well, Melrose and Yvonne shared an old market song to which we all caught the rhythm for smoothly. Major thanks to Joce, Faye, Star and Emmy for such a full day with the young ones The Seniors program at BCCF engages local seniors in actively taking part in gardening activities and growing their own food. By working together, they are empowered to collaborate, share resources, and build community with each other.
