Saying goodbye to Reggie Wells, one of our true beauty legends and pioneers. 💔 Although I ran into Mr. Wells many times over the years at education events. what I remember most was his kindness and encouraging words, as I had become a familiar face to him. In the summer of 2018 we were both teaching workshops in Chicago, back to back, and he honored me by sitting in on my class. He asked me to call him afterwards, which I did. I’ll never forget the things he said to me. He told me that there was an anointing in my hands, and that he had been watching from afar. I don’t have the words to describe what a full circle moment that was. Long before I’d ever meet the man, as a kid I knew his work, and dreamed of having an impact on the world. Real artists aren’t afraid to celebrate and support other artists. He will be sorely missed by many. #rip #reggiewells #youwillbemissed #wespeakyourname
