Here it is: our fifth and last of the 2020 vintage. Riesling is undoubtably our favourite grape variety. The crispness and focused character is what excites us about it. And what we particularly love about our Nahe region is that we harvest a little later due to the cooler climate here. The grapes get enough time to mature and still have a crisp acidity. The ones for this wine grew on a southfacing steep slope on yellow sandy soil. All these are perfect conditions for co-creating the kind of Riesling we love. After harvesting, the grapes were pressed directly, as whole bunches and the juice fermented in big old wooden barrels. The fermentation was very slow, the wine took its time and all this lead to a zippy, focused, fruity character. We are incredibly happy with this wine. And we hope you will be, too.
