I’m so late to this one, we shot this over a year ago actually, but wasn’t released until Jan of 21.
The theme of the project was transformation. We wanted to present J Lo in a statuesque-like form for her to break out of, along with environments that felt like paintings that she could bring to life.
I was really proud of how much of this we were able to achieve in camera. Slide 1 is entirely practical, and quite simple in theory. Brielle made a small beach, and found this beautiful backing that worked seamlessly. The chandelier is actually there, you can see how it lights her left wing a bit. Now there’s all kinds of lighting going on for this image, but I remember right at the last second we grabbed the light that never fails to save me... a tungsten leko. You can see how it brushes her right wing, and gives a highlight on her body.
On image 5, Brielle’s team built an entire 4ft. elevated pool on stage that was about 40x40 feet. That gave us the opportunity to put lighting on the stage floor to create the gradient on the cove.
Again, sorry this took so long to get around to, but these are some of my favorite images of last year.
Cheers Y’all!
