(1 of 3) The Spolia Coasters were created through a desire to find the beauty in what had been broken. Inspired by the ancient palimpsest cities of antiquity, these coasters are made by taking broken fragments of concrete coasters and casting them in eco-resin, forming a functional whole again. The fragility of the broken form becomes its most defining feature. Spolia (Latin: “spoils”): re-purposed stone reused for new constructions. Each coaster pair is unique and handmade-to-order in concrete and eco-resin. Offered in Square or Round shape.
