“Color has been central to my explorations in painting from the beginning. It has a dual (and magical) identity as elusive, optical sensation and physical, material substance that compels me to explore its expressive possibilities.” —Milly Ristvedt
Milly Ristvedt, MA, RCA, admires the discipline of seriality. She prefers to set her parameters after the fact, allowing exciting and unexpected changes to reveal themselves in the course of painting. Ristvedt showcases her masterful use of color and form in her immersive, abstract, acrylic paintings. Since 1968, Ristvedt has had over fifty solo exhibitions, including a traveling ten-year survey exhibition and her work has been included in national and international exhibitions.
