Years ago I was sitting in the sand on the banks of the Yellowstone around a crackling fire with friends, eating catfish tacos. The fish was caught upstream and the greens that accompanied our tacos were grown in the @montanaroots_livingston greenhouses behind us. A friend mentioned the word permaculture and we collectively dove into a generous and enriching conversation. I became so intrigued and committed to learning more. Now many years later I am thrilled to invite you all to peek into the Food Forest here on our farm. The Food Forest is what we call our garden that really is much more than a garden. Indeed it’s a wild place, like a forest that boasts hundreds of perennial and annual plants as well as countless insects, birds, and small creatures that also call it home.
