What a difference a foot makes! 🥰 Abri was struggling so much with her blade not being sturdy enough so she was gifted a foot by her super sweet prosthetist here and it has made all the difference in the world! If you know Abri you know that she LOVES her blade and has never wanted a foot but even she admits that it is much easier to regain her balance with it than the blade. After being bed bound for so long, as well as having all the side effects to the meds 😞 her brain and body are having to relearn how to work together again. She has 4 appointments a week right now including physical therapy, pain therapy, psychology and an awesome exercise physiologist that is teaching her muscles how to refire correctly. As you can imagine this is all really frustrating for her but she continues to push on. Abri, and the rest of us, are incredibly home sick as well but thankfully I think we have FINALLY hit spring here in Michigan (YAY!!!) so that is helping! Us Arizona people NEED the sun. 😝 Abri is also almost to her full calories each day by mouth so she is hoping she can get this darn tube out by her birthday next month. She still has absolutely no appetite and eating fast is still insanely painful. We still have no answers as to why with any of that other than the chronic regional pain syndrome that started after her biopsies over a year ago. Every test has come back normal and at some point we just had to stop searching for answers and just try to start healing. Again I promise to explain the whole last year soon. It’s hard to relive it all but I also know it is therapeutic to do so and also may be helpful for someone else. Thank you all for your continued prayers and messages!
