For this month’s STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY let's take a closer look🔬at the smaller, but just as SCARY, pieces of trash that make their way to our beaches, bluff trails, and parking lots called MICRO PLASTICS. Carefully lift up the beach wrack, AKA "seaweed", and see 👀 why it’s the unsung hero, collecting and trapping SO MANY pieces of microplastics brought in from the sea, giving us a chance to pick it out. 👏👏 Together lets try different methods to collect microplastics—bring an old colander or big slotted spoon, we will have a few for you to try out. Bring a small jar to start a collection, conversation, and understating of “nurdles”. Trust us, collecting nurdles can be contagious! If you have them, bring a small trash bucket, reusable bags, and gloves, but we will have plenty on hand. Dress up in your HOLLOWEEN costume and get a COOL Marine Protected Area (MPA) poster.
