Interaction, Experimentation, and Movement. That's what Jean Tinguely's art is all about. His works were meant to act as a contrast to the still paintings and white spaces in museums. Tinguely was inspired by the abstract forms and reliefs of the art of his time, which he then set in motion. With his moving works such as this atmospheric chandelier, he always sought the boundary between art and life. This work was part of the Tinguely exhibition at the Stedelijk in 2016.
