It’s been forever since we last posted & I sincerely apologize. I know people worry without new updates. I honestly didn’t know what to say, things aren’t much better & that is not what I wanted to post. Our church did this video with Ashlyn for advent & it hit me hard. (Full video @scottsdalebible) There are so many things I want to remember... what our “normal” life was like... it’s been 2 years. I want to remember what it felt like to be home... it’s been a year & a half since we left AZ intending to be back in a few weeks. I want to remember Abri as her confident, outgoing, happy self... she is not that person anymore & I miss that most. Abri is still struggling every day. She is stronger physically but the rest is the same. She is in constant pain, passes out when pain gets too intense, bowels don’t move, sad, anxious and misses home & who she used to be. She is struggling to eat enough to keep weight on, eating and drinking hurt & she is constantly nauseous. She hates seeing herself like this & misses her strong, healthy body. A year ago Abri finally got out of the hospital system & has thankfully been able to stay out & I pray never has to go back again. That part I don’t want to remember. Seeing her deteriorate to the point of being strapped to a wheelchair & barely able to talk is more than my brain can still process. I thought I may never get my girl back. She has over come so much since then but still has so far to go. We all want to get back home, back to our church, back to sweet Ashlyn but we need Abri stable enough first. We are trying everything we can to make that happen & have met other families who have gone through similar stomach hell after chemo that are giving us hope we are finally on the right path. Abri’s current treatments include low dose naltrexone, hyperbaric treatments, red light, somatic therapy, biofeedback, kinesiology, acupuncture, gut support supplements from @ancestralsupplements, castor oil packs, coffee enemas and just ordered patches from @lifewavecorporate. Abri says the crazier the better at this point. Thank you @scottsdalebible for this reminder that God hears our weeping and is with us through it all. We miss you all! ❤️
