This past weekend, @galerielouge teamed up with Fuze (@the.current.art), a Caribbean art fair—the first of its kind in the Bahamas. Fuze is all about celebrating the depth and creativity of Caribbean culture, bringing together artists who share the region’s unique stories and perspectives. This partnership felt like the perfect kickoff for my traveling gallery, creating space to showcase Caribbean heritage on a new stage. Exhibition Soleil Rouge October 23-27th Limited Print Available Soleil Rouge, a showcase of art that brings to light the contradictory yet universal themes of human connectivity. Embedded within the sky’s endless canvas, the sun serves as a constant symbol of raw energy and life-giving radiance. This series both embodies and reinterprets these symbols by illuminating the emotions that connect us to each other. By means of his signature use of high contrast and bold colors—this time focusing on red—Lougè harnesses the essence of the sun to create an ethereal representation of us all. Burning within each of us is a diverse array of emotions and experiences. Our passion and anger, our beauty and defiance—all historically associated with the color red—are like the intense rays of the sun. These blazing emotions, though at times contradictory, all emanate from the same source. They are all indicative of one cohesive body. One beating heart. In this collection, Lougè highlights the contrasting yet unifying light of the human experience. Very much like the sun itself, the right light provides context to our shadows, bringing to the forefront our true, passionate selves.
