The word pomander comes from the French pomme d’ambre, meaning apple of amber. Often in the form of a ball, Pomanders are aromatic spheres designed to hold a mixture of scented spices which used to be worn on a chain around the neck or tied at the waist.⁣ ⁣ We paid tribute to this tradition with our 2003 holiday special, designed by Nadette, the wife of our founder Olivier Baussan.
