Wee Wolf Girl is a celebration of both running free and independent and the camaraderie felt in being part of a tribe—as seen through the lens of a wolf, and inspired by the many lessons I was raised by growing up with a “pack” of my own. I first wrote Wee Wolf Girl in 2011 as I was embarking on my solo musical journey. One afternoon I sat by the piano and it all just came tumbling out. I lived nowhere near a forest but images of a pack bounding in between trees as light filtered through the leaves and cast shadows over them rang vivid and clear in my mind.🐺 Back then I went by “Forget Me Not” and I used Garage Band on my ancient MacBook to record it, hammering out the riffs on my giant rickety Yamaha keyboard before eventually uploading it on SoundCloud and passing it around on CD’s to anyone who would listen.
