Real things I’ve said in therapy this week.
1️⃣ “Let’s just acknowledge that that really sucks.”
Sometimes, the most healing thing we can do is stop trying to fix or reframe and just name the pain: that really sucks, and it’s okay to say so.
2️⃣”Just because you think it, doesn’t mean it’s true.”
Your thoughts can be loud and convincing, but that doesn’t make them facts—pause and check if they’re really serving you.
3️⃣”What’s the evidence for that thought?”
When your inner critic starts spiraling, take a breath and ask: what’s the actual evidence for this belief?
4️⃣”What would you say to a friend?”
You show compassion so easily to others—what would it look like to speak to yourself with that same kindness?
5️⃣”Avoidance fuels anxiety.”
Avoiding what scares us might bring short-term relief, but it gives anxiety more power in the long run—facing it is where freedom begins.
6️⃣”You are not alone. So many people don’t feel amazing in their bodies, but we can work on shifting that.”
You’re not broken for struggling with body image—so many others feel this too, and with time and support, healing is possible.
✨These are just a few reminders from the therapy room this week—gentle truths we all need to hear when the inner noise gets loud.
Tell me which one(s) you needed resonated with you this week.
