Here I am, standing in front of my new favorite thing. (Note my latest hairdo.) Yes, we have moved into the 21st century over here in Babylynnie Land. Though for decades I have prided myself on living through summers with open windows and fans—there’s cross-ventilation! I’m on a high floor! They didn’t have AC in 1925! — even I have been defeated by the escalating horrors of global warming. So last Friday I went on the Best Buy website and for $259 (and another $100 for the super to install this thing so it doesn’t fall out of the window and kill somebody, which in total is still less than some of these stupid dolls cost) I am now enjoying one of the unique pleasures of the modern world.
