If you’ve been struggling with your concealer this reel could be for you! Step 1: Eye Cream Just a teeny bit will prep your skin for makeup. Too much eye cream and your concealer will slip and slide all over the place and not adhere to the skin properly or create the coverage you desire. Step 2: Corrector Not necessary for everyone but if your under eyes are dark or your concealer simply doesn’t feel as bright as you’d like I can’t recommend a corrector highly enough-I use them on all my clients and my go-to is by @bobbibrown but @maccosmetics @charlottetilbury @revolution do great ones too. Pink tones best for pinky/purple shadows, peachy tones best for my brownish shadows. I apply with a flat concealer brush then press into the skin using the pad of my ring finger. Step 3: Concealer There are hundreds of formulas to choose from and even more shades but my general rule of thumb is to pick a shade the same as your foundation or a touch lighter if you prefer a brighter looking under eye (I do!) Dab the concealer in the inner corner of the eye and outer corner and blend with a brush-I used my Cream Blender brush. I like to make sure I blend over the tops of the cheeks too to the brightness blends gradually from under the eye. Step 4: TAP TAP TAP Or maybe it should be press press press!! Pressing the concealer into the skin is the key I’ve found to preventing your concealer creasing as it works the product into the skin and lifts off any excess product. If your fingers get oily you can do this with a sponge. Stage 5: Powder I know many of you aren’t fans of using powder under the eye but I can assure you if you’ve done steps 1-4 right then a little powder won’t be detrimental to the appearance of the skin under the eye but it WILL keep your concealer in place all day and help prevent excess creasing. For a light setting using a soft fluffy brush but for the best staying power use a sponge or velour pad. Feel free to pop any questions below and I’ll come back to you when I can.
