When Fern and I were planning the return of #FashionIcons after the COVID-19 quarantine, it was at the peak of the #stopasianhate violence. I was open about how this was effecting me personally, and Fern said, “we need to have a Slaysian onstage ASAP.” Thank goodness Prabal agreed. Since that night, I have gotten to know these five changemakers. I have seen them with my own eyes at peaceful protests using their voice and their influence. I have broken bread with them. They are living and breathing their mission to create a more inclusive and representative world in Fashion and Media.
