#Seeatiptimetuesday 👃 Identify the noseride section! Here, Shaley sees a noseride section approaching as soon as she stands up, so she makes her adjustments immediately to prepare to go to the nose. What is the ‘noseriding section’ we are looking for?! This is a wide range, but simply put, we are looking for steeper parts of the wave that allow our board to be up in the pocket, balancing us on the nose! It’s very hard to noseride flat sections on a wave, because we need space under the board in order to create lift! Pay very close attention to the timing of when surfers go to the nose. Figuring out this timing is the challenge that can be sped up by visually studying what others are doing (all the time in the water!) as well as experimenting and practicing. And like a dance step, you can find rythym with it! From the bottom turn, it’s usually 4 steps to the nose. You can get in 6 steps if they are tight, small steps, or you have a big, long board!
