Often accompanied by a complex set of images - especially around the gaze - gestures are here at the center of the three drawings but appear only in the background of the scenes: ghostly hands carrying a wounded skirmisher, a craniometer fragilely placed on a head, the arm of an antique sculpture crudely tied up waiting to be repaired.
