Currently on view at the Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion in Istanbul, Turkey is “Untitled #922 (The Strange Bird),” 1997-98. Organized by @kocholding and curated by Selen Ansen and Brigitte Pitarakis, the international group exhibition “You Know Who” showcases the works of over 45 artists and occupies both indoor and outdoor spaces of the mansion, creating an immersive experience for viewers. “You Know Who” examines the "intersections between Byzantium and the contemporary art world through the influence of the supernatural—the mysterious, strange, and invisible—on human emotions, behavior, and artistic production," states curator Brigitte Pitarakis in the show's accompanying catalogue. Referencing the "Byzantine past as a vehicle of tradition, myth, and legend," modern and contemporary works are put into perspective by being shown within a historic building. “Untitled #922 (The Strange Bird),” 1997-98, is installed in “You Know Who,” at the Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion, in Istanbul, Turkey from September 20 – December 11, 2022.
