The CHP is deploying 100 new low-profile, specially marked patrol vehicles to combat reckless driving across the state. These Dodge Durangos are designed to blend in with regular traffic, allowing officers to observe dangerous driving behaviors without being immediately detected. The initiative aims to address the alarming number of vehicle crashes and incidents of road rage, which are often likened to "video game-style" driving. CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee stated, "The new vehicles give our officers an important advantage. They will allow us to identify and stop drivers who are putting others at risk, while still showing a professional and visible presence once enforcement action is needed."
