POV: you’re a coaches wife The past two years I got to witness my husband bring a group of guys together who were not just full of talent but full of determination and drive. The culture that was created was special. It didn’t matter what anyone else said they had a goal and they worked so hard to get there. This team is more than just a group of runners. They are like family. I don’t think a lot of people realize what being a coach is. It’s so much more than stopping a watch. The countless hours spent outside of practice are where the story is built. There are a lot of good coaches out there, but people who can build culture and character and lead by example are special. I feel privileged to have gotten to witness the relationship my husband had with his team. It’s about more than wins and prs. It’s about doing things the right way and being good people. When I met him he told me his dream was to coach at an Ivy League and we’ll he did it. I just want to thank the group of people who made the past 2 years special. It’s honestly so sad to say goodbye. You’ll always be family and I’ll always be grateful to have witnessed the men of Dartmouth.
