One tired Elf. At 9:45 the girls board their plane here in Nashville. it was in the middle of the "Bomb Cyclone" Snow event so it's crazy and white out at times and blowing 35 mph with 45mph gusts and temps dropping to -19 with the wind chill. All good - or so we all thought. Something just told me to stay up until I got the text that they were taking off. Well. 6 hours later they were STILL ON THE PLANE in nashville on the tarmac. WHAT THE EVER LOVING F??!!! They bring the plane BACK to the gate because something now mechanical isn't working and the mechanic says nope. Can't fix it. Southwest cancels their flight. It's 3:30 am! They get off the plane and get their luggage- it's now 4:30 and and the weather is STILL shit. I pick them up and we start driving south. Lily found tickets out of Atlanta at 10am - we were supposed to get to Atlanta around 9 am - we go for it. About 30 min out of ATL the flight is delayed with just enough time for them to get their bags checked and through security. Done. Drop them in ATL and then I drive the 4 hours back to Nashville in the shit roads and weather because Tennessee has 2 plows and no one knows how to use them 🙄 don't get me started. So back home after a full day yesterday and no sleep last night. I'm exhausted. Beat. But laying here wide awake and jittery -- but didn't drink ANY caffeine. Just water! Crazy.
