I first met Kobe Bryant, when I was following him on tour in Europe in 2016. He had just retired from basketball. After Amsterdam, we stopped in Italy. On that day he was surrounded by a lot of people; during a quick time off, he walked up to me and told me that i wasn’t wearing the right shoes. He knelt down and grabbed my ankle to explain me how my feet should be supported, and the type of shoes I should be wearing, for the health of my ankles and knees. The following year he came to Paris, and as soon as he saw me, he said "Hey! long time no see! How are you ?" and immediately asked me about my feet and knees. He told me that day, I was wearing the right shoes, that it was very good and that I was armed to "just do it". Kobe was a legend because he assessed and worked on each of his weaknesses to become the best version of himself. When he retired he was trying to do the same for others, even for a small photographer hidden in a corner.
