What everyone thinks trail running is like...vs reality! There’s definitely some magic in a 4th place finish at OCC! I’m celebrating and soaking up the gratitude for what my body can do! But I’d be lying if I said it was all sunshine and rainbows. The first half felt a lot like picture #1 cruising in the mountains 🥰🏔 The second half of the race was more like the other photos...blood, sweat, cramps, falls, a lot of hiking, and very near tears...the happy kind of tears when you see the finish line. But I guess that’s part of the beauty, the struggle, the perseverance, the pushing through when it’s hard. I had the privilege of watching many of my friends push through very tough days. Seeing them humbly embrace the beauty in the suffering was inspiring beyond words. . Thanks to the incredible 📸@lukewebstr for capturing the magical moments and the struggle ❤️
