The TWA team recently put on our #GreenHardHats and checked in on two of our projects under construction - both with unique design constraints. The first is a new eight-story condo building in #clevelandpark. A historic home originally faced the commercial corridor on the corner lot at Macomb Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Our design solution involved lifting and reorienting the house to face Macomb Street, while introducing a new apartment building along Wisconsin Avenue. The building makes the most of a compact footprint and features exposures on three sides which allow for dramatic views. The second is an #adaptivereuse of a historic schoolhouse in #shaw. The design team preserved as many of the original interior brick bearing walls and wood trusses as possible while providing twelve stunning condo units. The schoolhouse is one third of the Collection at R Street, a showcase of #missingmiddlehousing.
