Congratulations to CHESNEY GUINOTTE (@chesney_guinotte ) for being named Surfer of the Week for the week of October 3rd. The 13-year-old from the North Shore of Oahu put on a dominating performance at the NSSA Hawaii event #2 at Sunset Beach last weekend where she placed first in Open Girls, Open Super Girls and Explorer Girls. Contest experience spent at Sunset is valuable to any young up and coming surfer and Chesney is thankful for that chance. “I am stoked to get some time out at Sunset to learn and grow,” she said. “Mahalo to NSSA Hawaii for such an epic opportunity!” It is no surprise that this young female ripper’s favorite surfers are @xococoho @rissmoore10 & @john_john_florence . Chesney is currently an 8th grader at Kanu O Ka’aina school and her favorite subjects are Social Studies and PIP (personal interest project). She is sponsored by Volcom, Buell, Ronin, Matunas & HIC. It is clear that Chesney is focused, determined and talented but she is also very humble and loyal to her Hawaiian roots.
