It is 250 years since the ceramics began in Kasama. Still experimenting, and seeking to add to the terroir - this year saw the development of the Kasama Choseki glaze material based on byproducts from nearby quarry stone. This is a new feldspar within the toolkit of Kasama’s potters, and used here in the work of Tatsushi Nemoto.
