Adam (and his twin brother) sit just atop our kidneys. These magical little dudes are sensitive. They’re hard wired to the sympathetic nerves in that area of our spinal cord and wowww do they communicate some strong signals. The adrenals chat it up with our liver and thyroid! Those guys have such a special relationship that can become tumultuous if... We’re depleted in minerals due to stress or certain medications— which only depletes them further AND faster. If the liver is having a hard time, maybe it’s sluggish so it’s not making enough cholesterol for hormone making magic, or there isn’t enough bile to detox so things have started to accumulate. That gets everybody bent out of shape but good news dear reader! Your thoughts and emotions change your brain, your cells, and your DNA. Your body is SMART, it’s resilient. YOU can control certain aspects of your physiology that can improve particular avenues of your health. Neatest thing is that it’s all really easy/primal stuff for that reptilian portion of the brain. Speaking your body’s language looks a lot like what it did very long ago. Get outside, get in the dirt, let the sun touch your skin as it rises or descends over the horizon, breathe with intention, and Adam would LOVE for you to hug a dog or two... Early onset of kidney disease has very few symptoms and you can slow or stop the disease progression by detecting it early. If you haven’t had an annual exam in a long time, and want to DIY your health, please don’t just rub yourself with essential oils, burn sage, and pray about it.
