Hello from London, where the image of the late queen—here she is as a teen with her sister Margaret! Here she is getting married! Here she is riding a horse! Here she is covered in jewels! —adorns every shop window. But the good news is that despite this endless period of mourning the stores are open, and the Brits are crowding the pubs, drowning their alleged sorrow in pints. The tube station nearest my hotel—Green Park—is closed, but I can walk to Dover Street Market, to Liberty, to Selfridges, and even in a pinch to Alfie’s Antiques Market (a brisk 40-minute hike). And Frock Me, the vintage clothing show at Chelsea Town Hall on Sunday, does not appear to be canceled, though it may take some doing to get there. My dear friend Sally convinced me that if would be insane to check a bag coming over, since I was transiting through Heathrow on my way to Vicenza, Italy for the VicenzaOro jewelry show (more on that later, I swear! More posts to come!) So I arrived in Europe with a carryon holding two tutus and exactly four dresses, one of which I got food on during the flight over and had to wash in the hotel sink. Who wants to have only four things to wear and one measly coat when the fashion shows are starting tomorrow? I confess that I was forced to visit the Simone Rocha store on Mount Street and now have two MORE dresses, along with a tulle Molly Goddard coat/dress from Matches, plus some fresh cheap lingerie from John Lewis, and oh, well, some other stuff I am ashamed to mention. But I may be persuaded to describe all on the Mickey & Lynn Show this Friday night and every Friday night at six eastern time on Instagram Live, though I will be broadcasting at 11 pm from London. See you then! @askmrmickey @simonerocha_ @mollygoddard
