How to fix a hand-tied weft ⚒️
You should never cut your HTW’s...
However, things happen like it did in my class and what a great opportunity to show how to fix it!
It’s not ideal, but it will do the job.
Now, a machine tied weft can be cut, because it’s fabric at the top that the hair has been sewn too.
A handtied weft are held together by three strings called tethers. This gives the HTW its classic thin spine. But you can compromise it if you cut past the knot holding the hand-tied hairs to the tethers.
Sooo, with that being said, you should FOLD your HTW’s not cut them... you can however cut the strings/tethers off but you don’t want to cut past the knot!!!!
If you accidentally cut them during the removal process or your guest is too rough on them, this is a situation you can find yourself in..
Here is how to fix it:
•Pull off an inch or so of hair to get enough string to tie together.
•Tie tethers/strings together
This is usually secure enough, however you can always add a drop of super glue If you’d like.
🎥 Thank you @styled.byandrea for filming!!!
