Event: Product Introspection: Mawata Silk 24 Dec '22 – 5 Jan '23 @ F.I.L. TOKYO “Product Introspection” is an exhibition and pop-up event where we explore a different material or construction method as a focal point and introduce its origins, history, and production process for a better understanding of what it is. The next series of events will take a look at Mawata Silk, and three F.I.L. locations will be hosting this time in Tokyo, Kanazawa, and Fukuoka. 毎回異なる素材や工法にフォーカスし、その歴史、生産工程などを紹介する展示・販売イベント「Product Introspection」。東京、金沢、福岡の「F.I.L.」3店舗を会場に開催する今回のテーマは「真綿」です。 The event will present the cocoons (mayu), the raw material of Mawata Silk, as well as reference materials regarding “fukuro mawata” made from cocoons that have been simmered for hours and unraveled one at a time by hand. Also, visvim Mawata Silk pieces presented in past collections and pulled from the archives will be on display.
