I want to talk a little bit about how I learned of my fathers unexpected passing, because in a way, it was beautiful. I was on a @southwestair flight at O’Hare in Chicago, my plane had started to take off the runway and my mom called with the news I could have never been ready for. As you could imagine, I was hysterical, inconsolable, crushed. Immediately, Lisa, a beautiful flight came to my side with two other incredible passengers, Molly and Gillian. They held me, covered me in a blanket, put ice packs on me. They loved me and they told me that. And I loved them. It seems unbelievable to love someone without knowing them, but this trauma came with an unconditional support and love that makes humanity so perfect. It’s not everyday that we can see the love that pure. Honestly, it felt like my dad had found these real earth angels to support me in the hardest moments of my life. Lisa, Molly, Gillian, and the entire southwest crew and staff gave me comfort and love that I will never know how to repay, but I want them all to be recognized for their love they gave me.
