Through the Comeback Checks Program, the City of Los Angeles allocated funds to microenterprises and small businesses who were in need of economic support due to business interruptions or business closures suffered as a result of the pandemic. Anna’s Cleaning Service, a small business dedicated to commercial and residential cleaning for the past 23 years, was one of the 5,000 businesses who received a $5,000 grant from the program. With the assistance provided by @iconcdc, operator of EWDD’s North Valley and South Valley BusinessSource Centers, Anna’s Cleaning Service owner, Anna Moreno, was chosen as a grant recipient! Moreno used the funds to pay her employees as well as pay some bills that were pending.
