In case you don’t know who this man is, let me introduce you to @gagliostro . I met Vincent when I was a knock-kneed 18 yr old photo assistant working for the legendary #BillKing. He was an art director with one of the big agencies then. For some reason he was nice to me, and I was always grateful for his kindness. He became a freelance art director and when I started my career Vincent was one of the first people to hire me. I think back to some of those crazy early 90’s shoots with great fondness. We used to have offices on the same block of 14th St. in New York City and would spend hours together editing shoots we had done. #goodtimes Then Vincent threw it all in and moved to Paris with his husband to become a full-time artist and a film maker. He released his first film, #AfterLouie in 2017 to great critical acclaim. A director was born. I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with Vincent throughout my career on traditional jobs and some pretty wacky stuff including some short fashion films which were screened @asvof at the Centre Pompidou. When it came time to do my book, Alessandra by Stewart Shining, I knew he had to be the one to design it. And boy did he. More often than not when people see the book for the first time they go “Wow, the design is so incredible!” before they even mention the pictures! I secretly love that, as Vincent really is this INCREDIBLE talent who creatively knows no bounds and who's heart is as big as they come. Oh and did I mention he's a committed AIDS activist who was a founding member of #ActUp ? The guy is a quadruple threat, a creative genius, and the world's best friend. I’m lucky to know him.
